Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Telematics Installation Trailer Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telematic technology on various trailer makes and models. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Telematic technology installations on various trailer makes and models, ensuring proper wiring and connections.
- Verify installations using the PCT Tech Assist, Connect 1 and Bluetooth applications.
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain functionality of existing technology installed on customer trailers, ensuring they meet operational standards.
- Review and diagnose issues and perform necessary repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of all installations, maintenance, repair work and inventory.
- Remotely collaborate with other technicians and staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service.
- Use diagnostic tools, including multimeters, to analyze and interpret system data.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in telematics technology.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- 100% travel within local market
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience working in the trucking industry preferred.
- 2+ years of experience installing GPS tracking or other technology preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, with additional Technician/Electronics training or education preferred.
- Strong understanding of trailer mechanics and 12-volt DC electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and thoughtful attention to detail in work
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to lift 20lbs daily
- Must have reliable service truck or van that will transport required tools, including a ladder.
- Successfully complete PCT’s Telematics Installation and Technical Service Program
