Summary/Objective:
Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Licensing or registration required.
Essential Functions:
- Reports to work on time as scheduled
- Escorts patient to exam room and prepares them for physician
- Work one on one with physicians to assist in daily clinical care of patients
- Set up office surgical trays, while maintaining sterility
- Take vital signs and obtain a short explanation or reason for the visit
- Draw blood, place and remove Foley catheters and suprapubic catheters, removal drains, staples and stitches
- Review electronic medical record, including past medical history, social, surgical and family history, along with medications and ensure proper documentation
- Verbally or electronically refill medications and correspond with insurance companies, referring physicians and others when appropriate
- Take phone calls throughout the day, confer with the physician when appropriate and document appropriately
- Make sure exam rooms are stocked and clean
- Ensure each patient has a follow-visit as needed
- Check charts at the end of the day to make sure that everything has been done and signed off
- Educate patients appropriately
- Scan and index records of patients for upcoming appointments

- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced and potentially stressful environment

Required Education and Experience:
- Must hold active RN or LPN License and must be able to practice in State of Florida
- BLS
- One year experience as a Registered Nurse or LPN
Preferred Education and Experience:
- BSN
- ACLS
- Two years of experience working in an ambulatory clinic/medical office setting or urological clinic

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
