The R.N. is responsible for carrying out medical and nursing assessments, physician?s orders, administration of medications and providing assistance where needed.
- Actively participates in treatment planning of clients.
- Administers medications in a safe manner and document administration (equal or less than 2 medication errors this appraisal period).
- Consistently maintains client confidentiality and agency security policies.
- Ensures that documentation in client?s files, nursing log and other sources (e.g. Incident reports and ESI form) are accurate and completed in agency prescribed guidelines.
- Adheres to established guidelines for assessing, documenting and observing clients for seclusion/restraint or other special precautions.
- Contacts the agency Psychiatrist(s) when necessary for orders or consultation as it pertains to treatment of the client.
- Transcribes and carries out physicians orders accurately.
- Recognize, reports, document and seeks appropriate intervention for signs and symptoms of complications or change in status.
- Effectively and appropriately set limits that are appropriate to the situation.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the client needs based on the age and functioning level of the client.
- Models appropriate and professional behavior (i.e., dress, habits, personality, tact, etc.)
- Relates with clients, parents, peers and the general public in a respectful and professional manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Shifts available: Saturday and Sunday 7pm to 7am.
Salary: $31 / hr.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree required.
- Licensed Registered Nurse.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- 1-3 years experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal, written and computer skills (word processing, data entry and Outlook).
