Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Dental Assistant 2 / EFDA to join our dynamic team at a multi-location pediatric dental practice in the Carolinas. As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive dental care to our young patients while maintaining a positive and nurturing environment. This position requires the flexibility to travel to one or more locations as needed, ensuring consistent support across all practices.
Responsibilities:
● Provide chairside assistance to pediatric dentists during various dental procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
● Prepare, organize, and maintain dental instruments, materials, and equipment for patient appointments
● Foster a positive and comforting environment for pediatric patients, addressing any concerns and establishing trust
● Capture dental X-rays under the dentist's guidance, adhering to all safety protocols
● Educate parents and guardians on proper oral hygiene practices for children and deliver clear post-operative care instructions
● Maintain accurate and current patient records, including treatment plans, charting, and progress notes
● Uphold stringent infection control standards by sterilizing and disinfecting dental instruments, equipment, and treatment areas
● Collaborate with front office staff for appointment scheduling, insurance benefits, and patients needs
● Manage inventory of dental supplies and equipment
● Ensure a clean and organized work environment, contributing to a safe and welcoming atmosphere for both patients and staff.
● Demonstrate flexibility by traveling to various practice locations as required
Qualifications:
● Successful completion of CDA or EFDA CODA accredited program or 2 years of dental
assisting experience
● Coronal Polishing certificate or willing to obtain
● Nitrous Oxide certificate or willing to obtain
● Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
● Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
● Proficiency in Curve dental software (preferred)
● Experience working with pediatric patients (preferred)
● Bilingual is a plus!
