**Job Summary:**
As a Medical Assistant/Allergy Tech in an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) clinic, you will be responsible for a combination of administrative and clinical tasks to support the efficient operation of the clinic. Your role will involve patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, medical records management, billing and coding, supply management, clinical patient preparation, allergy testing, immunotherapy administration, patient education, assistance with procedures, documentation, and maintaining safety and infection control protocols.
**Qualifications:**
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a medical assistant program or certification as an allergy technician may be required or preferred.
- Certification: Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) may be required. Additional certification as an Allergy Technician (CMAA) or Certified Clinical Allergy Specialist (CCAS) is desirable.
- Experience: Prior experience in a medical office setting, especially in ENT or allergy clinics, is advantageous.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, proficiency in EMR systems, and knowledge of medical terminology and allergy testing techniques.
- Licensure: MA License Preferred
**Responsibilities:**
1. **Administrative Duties:**
- Patient Scheduling: Schedule appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits efficiently.
- Patient Registration: Greet patients, collect demographic and insurance information accurately.
- Insurance Verification: Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, assist with inquiries.
- Medical Records Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date medical records.
- Billing and Coding: Assist with coding procedures accurately for reimbursement.
- Supply Management: Monitor and restock medical and office supplies.
- Communication: Facilitate communication between patients, physicians, and healthcare providers.
2. **Clinical Duties:**
- Patient Preparation: Escort patients, obtain vital signs, prepare for procedures.
- Allergy Testing: Perform allergy skin testing, interpret results under physician supervision.
- Immunotherapy Administration: Administer allergy immunotherapy injections as ordered.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on allergy triggers, avoidance strategies, and medication usage.
- Assist with Procedures: Support physicians during ENT procedures, maintain a sterile environment.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient assessments, procedures, and treatment plans in EMRs.
- Safety and Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols, maintain cleanliness, ensure a safe environment.
