Description
Assist in controlling all textbook activity within the district and perform textbook audit assignments.
Examine and review school records and non-campus operations and prepare appropriate work-papers and/or supporting documentation.
- Assist campus and non-campus administrators in safeguarding textbooks and adhering to policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
- Review and appraise textbook administrative, accounting operation records and
internal controls throughout the District.
- Write appropriate textbook audit programs.
- Conduct general efficiency and/or operational textbook audits of the Textbook Warehouse and make recommendations that will have a positive impact on cost saving through improved productivity.
- Conduct annual audit of inventory within the Textbook’s warehouse. Observe and test count District’s physical textbook inventory.
- Prepare supporting work papers designed for documenting audit findings.
- Prepare reports of audit assignments with practical and economical recommendations of corrective action.
- Prepare reports of District owned textbooks in regards to age and replacement recommendations.
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. Equivalency).
- Preferred 2 years experience.
- Demonstrated ability to submit accurate reports promptly.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of administration.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise considerable initiative and judgment.
