We are a Family Practice Medical Clinic operating out of San Antonio for over 30 years.
- Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.
- Obtain accurate demographic and insurance information from patients and ensure all registration forms are complete.
- Make copies of insurance card and photo ID for medical record.
- Answer and screen telephone calls in a courteous manner and record messages for physician and personnel.
- Schedule patient appointments and procedures according to established policies and procedures.
- Verify patient insurance is current and active.
- Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges on a daily basis.
- Verify account balances and refunds for accuracy, and provide information to patients regarding unpaid balances.
- File records in appropriate sections of patient charts and keep patient charts in proper order.
- Prepare patient charts in advance and file patient charts when complete.
- Maintain files and records in a confidential manner.
- Maintain organization and efficiency of front office, including office supply inventory.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Perform additional related duties as directed or assigned.

All employees are required to wear provided PPE including masks and scrub caps. All patients and visitors are required to wear masks and fill out a COVID-19 symptom checklist upon arriving at the clinic for every visit.
License/Certification:

Medical Assistant
As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office. You will support providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, effectively, and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Triage patients
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services
- Check with patients and update patients charts
- Assist during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
- Certificate in medical assistance
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Medical reception a plus
- Referral experience a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
