Job Description: We are seeking an Entry-Level Trucking Dispatcher to join our dynamic team in Houston, Texas. This position offers comprehensive on-the-job training, providing the opportunity to learn and grow within the logistics and transportation industry. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing the daily operations of our fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule the dispatching of trucks to ensure timely and efficient delivery of shipments.
- Communicate with drivers to provide instructions, updates, and support throughout their routes.
- Monitor and track the progress of deliveries, ensuring adherence to schedules and addressing any issues that arise.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including driver logs, delivery statuses, and any incidents.
- Collaborate with the operations team to optimize routing and minimize delays.
- Assist in resolving any operational issues, including delays, equipment failures, or unexpected events.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and providing updates on shipment statuses.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics, transportation, or a related field is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software for tracking and dispatching.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
