Overview:
Oak View Group (OVG) the leading food service provider located at McCormick Place Convention Center has an immediate opening for a Coordinator Culinary. This position reports to the Director of Culinary Services with responsibilities to include providing coordination and maintenance of all culinary services at McCormick Place Convention Center.
This role will pay a salary of $25 to $28.

About the Venue:
McCormick Place located in downtown Chicago is the largest and most flexible convention center in North America., With over 2.6 million square feet of exhibition space, the campus proudly hosts some of the world’s largest and most prestigious conventions, meetings, and trade shows, welcoming approximately 3 million visitors to Chicago every year.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain schedules using E-Time Scheduling Software to input schedules, update changes, edit hours/shifts and other adjustments as needed.
- Communicate scheduling issues to the Director of Culinary.

Demonstrate an ability to mitigate any scheduling conflicts, adjust schedules based on leave request, call-offs; direct hourly employees regarding scheduling issues, policies and procedures of the organization.

Create staffing assignment sheets by location for management staff to ensure employees are in the correct location. Ensure accuracy of the Staffing Sheet in relation to the Employee Schedule.

Update department master schedules and telephone list as part of termination procedures and new hire orientation.

Prioritize Banquet Event Order’s (BEO’s) as needed for Pop-ups, add-ons, etc.

Update Culinary Staff regarding updates to BEO’s and communicate urgent changes to Director of Culinary and staff.

Assist Culinary management team with documentation process of employee disciplinary issues to ensure HR compliance.

Effective communicator, have flexibility with scheduling, a sense of urgency, able to multi-task, sharp with a professional demeanor.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)

At least two years’ experience in an Administrative and or Culinary position, with E-Time or equivalent scheduling software preferred.

2+ years’ work experience in Food and Beverage, Hospitality, or related field.
- Computer literate and able to type no less than 50 wpm.
- Prior experience in a unionized environment highly desirable.

Must be flexible with scheduling, have a sense of urgency, develop rapport with employees and managers, multi-task, and conduct business in a professional manner.

Be able to respond quickly and resourcefully to different issues as they arise.

Ability to proofread staffing schedules for errors.

Work independently and professionally in an office setting.

Be a team player and willing to assist outside your day to day job duties when required and any other job functions that may apply.

Keep an organized work environment (accurate filing system, logs, etc.).

Respond promptly to all phone calls and e-mails from internal and external guests

Must exhibit the ability to read, write and interpret data.

Ability to sit for most of your designated shift.

Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
