Living Word Academy is a school catering to students from Preschool to 12th grade, with an enrollment of around 350 . Our goal is to furnish a college preparatory curriculum that nurtures students holistically - physically, mentally, and spiritually. LWA equips students with both academic excellence and the guiding principles of the Bible, preparing them for life beyond high school.
We are seeking dedicated Christian educators to enhance our team of qualified teachers. As a member of our faculty, you will be tasked with developing and executing a comprehensive educational curriculum in alignment with the school's standards. Central to your role will be imparting knowledge and guidance infused with a biblical perspective, fostering the holistic growth of students' character and abilities. The perfect candidate will exhibit a fervent enthusiasm for teaching, possessing the capacity to connect with students and establish a foundation of trust. Additionally, they will demonstrate adeptness in classroom management and the ability to facilitate engaging and purposeful learning experiences.
Responsibilities
- Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning
- Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning
- Use Christian-based curriculum and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments etc.)
- Assess and record students’ progress and provide grades and feedback
- Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
- Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events
- Observe and understand students’ behavior and psyche and report suspicions of neglect, abuse etc.
- Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences etc.
Skills
- Teaching experience preferred, but not mandatory
- Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines preferred
