TriCity Pain Associates, located in the Stone Oak area of San Antonio is seeking an experienced referral coordinator/Medical Assistant to manage medical and billing record requests. The successful candidate will be someone who is meticulous in detail, can handle multiple tasks and priorities, as well as having the ability to meet strict deadlines.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Referral Coordinator is responsible for coordinating health records for patients, as requested by referring sources. The Referral Coordinator will also be responsible for scheduling, tracking, referral case management and providing reports. The Referral Coordinator will represent the company professionally and positively to enhance and promote the core values of it, always exercising utmost discretion, diplomacy and tact in customer interactions. The Referral Coordinator works under the primary supervision of the Office Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Demonstrates excellent patient relations skills on the phone and in-person.
2. Ensure complete and accurate records provided.
3. Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals by recording all referrals into tracking system in Excel or otherwise, transitioning to EHR documentation as available.
4. Acts as a resource for clients or providers who have questions or problems relating to referrals.
5. Ensure that requests are addressed in a timely manner, prioritizing urgent items appropriately.
6. Maintains regular consistent attendance, personal appearance, punctuality, and adherence to applicable health and safety procedures
7. Performs other work related duties as assigned.

7. Knowledge of medical terminology.
8. Ability to work efficiently and comfortable with other medical clinic employees.
9. Skills in using Excel.
10. Ability to be punctual and dependable.
11. Ability to complete assigned projects and meet deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
1. High school graduate or GED equivalent.
2. Must respect patients’ rights to privacy and confidentiality.
3. Spanish language fluency is preferred.
4. Experience working with PC based computer operations.
5. Must be detailed oriented and good organizational skills.
6. Must pass a criminal background check within the initial ninety (90) calendar days of employment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
Weekly day range:
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
