DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
- Follow community policies and procedures for handling, processing, and transporting linen and residents' personal laundry.
- Comply with infection control requirements and use appropriate protective equipment.
- Establish and adhere to laundry schedule, ensuring an adequate supply of clean laundry.
- Sort, load, wash, iron, and label laundry items.
- Report damaged or lost clothing articles and manage inventory of linen supply.
- Clean equipment and maintain a clean laundry room.
- Deliver and store residents' personal laundry and linen in their rooms.
- Perform routine checks of resident rooms, addressing inventory issues and misplaced items.
- Interact with residents and their belongings respectfully and courteously.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Required: Ability to acquire sufficient knowledge and learn new skills through on-the-job training to meet job performance requirements.
- Preferred: High school diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of professional laundry experience.
- Physical requirements include loading and unloading washers and dryers, moving laundry carts and supplies, and using laundry equipment.
- Activities may include sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods, with a predominance of standing.
