Summary/Objective:
The Packaging Operator performs functions relating to the packaging of gummy products; consistent with established current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), customer requirements, and in conjunction with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Responsible for the safe and efficient execution of their job duties, while ensuring product packaging compliance to established standards.
Essential Functions:
- Effectively oversees bulk and bottles packaging lines employees.
- Reviews packaging batch records for completeness and appropriate documentation and ensures that any corrections to the packaging batch record are completed accurately.
- Performs SAP transactions and closes work orders.
- Authors and reviews Standard Operation Procedures and other GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) relevant documents.
- Serve as a point of contact for packaging issue resolution.
- Authors packaging investigations and change controls and supports manufacturing investigations and change controls.
- Supports packaging equipment qualifications.
- Assists the operational and logistics team with checking documents, deliveries, pending orders , and any other that may be considered part of an inventory task, or coordination of the same.
- Monitor material delivery against open purchase orders and follow up accordingly
- Coordinate with logistical staff, supply chain supervisor or other operational staff with any expediting necessary for deliveries that need to be arranged by the operations team.
- Communicate with warehouse team on any inquiries related to the purchasing and logistics areas
- Track deliveries of Purchase Orders
- Attend daily production meetings to understand status of all purchased and received items for the facility.
- Coordinate samples requested by any department in the organization
- Act as backup for any of the machine operators, if necessary, including but not limited to operating the machines, leading line operators and recording the documentation required as directed.
- Assist operations and any other areas as directed.
- Champions the Safety and Quality improvements in the Packaging Department.
Required Experience & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent education degree (GED) plus related experience and /or training.
- Previous similar work experience, preferably as a lead and or supervisor in a manufacturing/production environment. Forklift or other related equipment certification preferred.
- Good level of interpersonal skills required to effectively interact with others
- General knowledge and understanding of materials handling as it relate to cGMP l regulatory requirements.
- Experience in use of various transporting of materials in a pharma manufacturing facilities environment.
- Experience with SAP.
- Ability to follow established SOP’s, oral and written instructions, and perform functions with safety being the number one priority.

Work Environment:
Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions in the plant. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
- The employee might regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
