Fire Alarm & Security Sales Executive (ME, NH, VT)

We are currently looking to hire a Fire Alarm & Security Sales Executive that will report to our Billerica, MA office. In this role you will design and sell fire alarm, access control, video surveillance, intrusion, intercom, paging, and emergency notification, as well as other ancillary low voltage solutions to electrical contractors and building owners directly. Primary territory will include the states of ME, NH and VT.
Our ideal Fire Alarm & Security Sales Executive will have 5+ years of hands-on experience with a strong understanding of fire alarm, security, and ancillary low voltage systems. He/she should be highly motivated with an eye towards quality and detail. Candidate will be well organized with good written and oral communication skills and be able to work independently. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prospect, qualify and develop new relationships with general contractor & electrical contractor communities for the purpose of selling solutions in the white space construction vertical.
- Prospect and build relationships with A&E community for the purpose of identifying construction opportunities early enough to influence and support Setronics technical solutions.
- Prospect, qualify, and develop owner-direct relationships within the Healthcare, Education, Higher Education, Retail, Commercial, State, Municipal & Federal Government vertical markets.
- Identify and close sales opportunities in new accounts to meet and exceed assigned revenue quota targets.
- Develop preliminary system design, solution configuration, and pricing of fire alarm life safety, video surveillance, access control, intrusion, and ancillary low voltage systems for medium to large complex building projects.
- Leverage company resources, including Management Team, Fire Alarm & Security System Design and Operations Teams to complete accurate bill of materials and prepare proposals in a timely manner and achieve objectives.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, submittals, schematics, and operational product manuals for the purpose of completing system(s) take-offs and compiling accurate quotations.
- Work closely with Operations & Engineering teams on pre-sales and post-sales technical activities such as take-offs, battery & load calculations, drawings, bill of materials, riser diagrams, submittals, as-built packages, O&M’s, sequence of operations, and panel layouts.
- Work closely with and leverage Setronics low voltage system partners to insure the latest in systems technologies are being utilized for building solution applications/designs.
- Research and interpret all applicable National, Local and State code requirements to ensure code compliant system solutions are being proposed.
- Identify out of scope work, design flaws by review of the contract documents, plans, and specifications to create change order opportunities.
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms & conditions within the company approval boundaries.
- Provide monthly 30-60-90 Day Bookings Forecasts within 5/10/15% accuracy consistently.
- Represent Setronics in a professional manner at local trade shows, conferences and other events as required.
- Pursue professional & personal development activities that increase sales skills and knowledge of markets & industries that Setronics serves.
- Complete all appropriate company paperwork and other tasks as assigned.
Job Skills:
- Strong computer skills including a solid background in MS Office.
- Familiar with IBC, NEC, NFPA codes (NFPA 101 and NFPA 72), as well as local codes as it pertains to Fire Alarm Systems and permitting requirements.
- Industry related NICET Level II certification is desired (or path to obtain in place acceptable).
- Minimum of 5 years of technical similar experience.
- Fire Detection industry experience.
- Security Systems industry experience.
- Working knowledge of the Construction Industry and the system design requirements as it relates, i.e., submittals, permitting docs, as-builts, etc.
- Proficient in reading and understanding construction documentation, more specifically, plans, specifications, addendums, RFI’s, details, etc.
- Working knowledge of fire alarm, security systems, i.e., access control, video, intrusion, as well as ancillary systems such as intercom, AOR, BDA, wireless networks, etc.
- Knowledge of low voltage electrical system schematics and diagrams.
- Bluebeam software experience not required but is a significant plus.
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of sales processes and cycles.
- Computer proficiency and solid technical in-depth knowledge of integrated security solutions.
- NICET Level II certification desired (Level III or IV preferred).
- Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation, writing and verbal communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated, have strong organizational skills, be a multi-tasker, reliable, self- determined and have excellent follow up skills.
- Possess the ability to take the initiative to get a project completed.
- Proven track record to close sales.
- Applicants must meet requirements in relation to background and driving record.
- Regular, reliable, predictable attendance and ability to travel when necessary (<25%).
