Northland Counseling Services a behavioral health agency with offices in NW Wisconsin is seeking a full time mental health therapist for its Ashland clinic. Experience with children and adolescents, marriage therapy, substance abuse, trauma informed treatment and crisis intervention desirable. LCSW, LPC, LMFT, licensure preferred. Supervision hours towards licensure may be available for qualified master's level individual. Full time salaried position. EOE.
FUNCTION OF THE JOB
Under direction, performs professional work involving the delivery of psychological treatment of mental, emotional, nervous disorders and crisis intervention, assessment and response to individuals and families; and performs other duties as required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provides psychotherapy services to customers.
· Conducts assessments of client needs through interviews, diagnostic tools, and collateral contacts, develops a treatment plan with customers, and performs agreed upon and necessary therapeutic services to customers on an individual, family or group basis.
· Provides crisis intervention, assessment and response.
· Provides case management services, and coordinates the various social, community, and mental health services received by clients.
· Establishes and maintains effective public and working relationships and collateral contacts.
· Maintains detailed case records, develops and prepares statistical reports, makes recommendations concerning case disposition, and testifies at hearings as required.
· Attends and participates in staff development programs, including in-service training, staff meetings, and professional seminars.
· Observes client to detect indications of abnormal physical or mental behavior.
· Plans and administers therapeutic treatment such as behavior modification and stress management therapy to assist patient in controlling disorders and other problems.
· Conducts therapy sessions.
· Refers client to additional services to supplement treatment and counseling.
· Documents the visit in the EMR in an accurate and timely manner.
· Participates in behavioral health quality improvement programs.
· This person must be able to respond to the needs of the community by being able to engage those seeking treatment whether in a clinic, school or remote based environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential Knowledge and Abilities
· Comprehensive knowledge of psychotherapy and casework principles and methods.
· Comprehensive knowledge of welfare, health, mental health, and community resources.
· Comprehensive knowledge and experience with crisis intervention, assessment and response.
· Comprehensive knowledge of the federal, state, and local rules and regulations governing the delivery of social services.
· Considerable knowledge of human behavior, dynamics of groups, interpersonal relations, and social interactions.
· Considerable knowledge of social problems and their effects on individuals.
· Considerable knowledge of reimbursement sources and requirements.
· Ability to provide psychotherapy treatment.
· Ability to plan, organize, assign, supervise, and evaluate the work of others.
· Ability to organize and plan work effectively.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective public and working relationships.
· Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
· Ability to prepare and present detailed and complete reports.
Requirements:
· Wisconsin license required
· Bachelor’s Degree plus a Master Degree in Social Work, Psych Counseling or related
· LPC, LCSW, LMFT
· APSW, LPC-IT, LMFT-IT encouraged to apply. (Salary will be commensurate with licensure and experience)
