Psych Nurse – Registered Nurse (RN) - RTF Program - FLOAT POOL

RN's are responsible for the direct medical care of THIRA Health patients through regular patient check-ins. Coordinate care with clinical treatment and assist in treatment plans for patients.
Job Duties:
- Perform vitals on patients daily and document accordingly in patient’s chart
- Perform initial new patient medical assessment, including but not limited to, reconcile medications, obtain medical/surgical history and most recent labs, confirm all patient allergies, and document all findings in patient chart
- Maintain all medical data for patients in EMR patient charts
- Coordinate all infection control standards within our facility, ensure staff and patients uphold procedures and standards as relevant; delegate as needed
- Maintain patient illness tracking log and consult with patients regarding questions/concerns about presenting physical medical symptoms
- Design and lead health and wellness lectures/groups for patients
- Administer AIMS exam on all patients as necessary and document findings in patient chart
- Assist PHP patients with self-administered medications and maintain the medication self-administration records and orders
- Support prescribers with creation of lab and EKG orders for all patients as necessary, follow up with providers when needed
- Obtain urine specimens and send to lab for random patient drug screening, follow up as necessary
- Phone in patient prescription refills
- Preform skin assessments for self-harm behavior, treat as needed and refer to outside providers when necessary
- Communicate with outside providers and patient family members regarding medical information as needed
- Ensure maintenance of medical info binders for all PHP patients to be used for emergency situations
- Oversee all medical supply ordering and inventory; maintain medical budget
- Manage the development and implementation of medical policies and procedures in accordance with Joint Commission and other accreditation services
- Research solutions for any medical-related issues that have been identified and guide implementation as appropriate
- Clean, sanitize and maintain safe nurse’s station
- Coordinate disposal of biohazard waste with appropriate vendors
- Support prescribing medical staff as needed
Requirements:
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN); Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred
- Valid WA State RN license in good standing
- Minimum one (1) year prior experience as a nurse (RN) required; prior mental or behavioral health nursing experience highly preferred
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check
