Conducts service, repair and/or installation of products or IT solutions at customer site, including electrical and mechanical testing, in accordance with maintenance contracts. Diagnoses system failures and determines most cost-effective solution. Escalates complex issues to greater level of technical support or quality reporting system. May develop new customer service/product agreements. Responds to customer support calls within an assigned territory.
About the role:
The Field Service Technician I is responsible for the delivery of high-quality customer service, performing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of Hach devices located at our customer sites. The customer base for this role is anticipated to be a combination of municipal (i.e., drinking and wastewater treatment facilities) and industrial (i.e., power plants and food and beverage plants).
To get fully onboard, you will participate in our Service Training Program (a 10-week program with a mix of class-based and field training). You will have a dedicated trainer who will travel with you and also access to the Field Service Playbook and online content for your support.
The role will be remote in Phoenix with 60-75% travel within a 2-hour radius of the Phoenix area. You can expect to have up to 1-3 nights away each week with company-paid accommodations and meals.
In this role, you will:
- Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.
- Promotes a positive customer experience and serves as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems.
- Submits prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
- Follows safe work practices according to company policy.
- Executes administrative activities in support of service visits.

Are you qualified?
- Associates/Technical degree preferred, or combination of education and experience.
- Basic mechanical aptitude is a must - experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair helpful, but not required.
- 1 or more years of field service experience and/or customer facing roles preferred.
- You have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
