The Nielsen Eye Center is seeking Patient Care Coordinators to join our administrative team. The ideal candidate to join our team must be detail-oriented, have the ability to multi-task, work with multiple physicians, cross-train, have excellent and accurate computer skills, work in a fast-paced environment, and possess a genuine passion to connect with patients through deliberate customer engagement and service.
Previous experience in a medical administrative role preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
As a Patient Care Coordinator in our state-of-the-art practice, you will need to:
- Greet and welcome patients into the practice with an upbeat, positive attitude for their appointments
- Check patients in upon arrival, discussing any financial co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles and/or past due balances and post into the electronic record while maintaining and balancing a cash drawer
- Obtain demographic and financial information for each patient and update our electronic health records
- Relay any relevant medical and/or insurance updates to the appropriate departments
- Confirm medical charts are complete and financial responsibilities are settled before patients leave
- Answer calls in a timely, professional, and respectful manner to assist patients with needs regarding scheduling or further inquiries, notating accounts thoroughly. Applying listening and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle and resolve conflicts in a professional and tactful manner
- Retrieve incoming faxes daily, work and distribute as appropriate
- Ability to work in a team setting and achieve team goals
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
- Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures along with complying with legal regulations (HIPAA)
- Attend and participate in staff and department meetings
- Other responsibilities as determined by department managers
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Must be able to work at all Nielsen Eye locations as needed with reliable transportation to each
- Typing proficiency and the ability to multitask
- Prior experience in a customer/patient facing environment
- Adaptability and growth-mindset in an ever-changing medical atmosphere
OFFICE HOURS:
- Monday: 7:00AM - 3:30PM
- Tuesday: 10:00AM - 6:30PM*
- Wednesday & Thursday: 8:30AM -5:00PM
- Friday: 7:00AM - 3:30PM
- Saturday Rotation 8:00AM - 12:00PM
*Tuesday hours vary depending on clinic needs
