Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Clerk to join our team. As a Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately processing payroll and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. This is a crucial role within our organization, as you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely payment to our employees.
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings accurately
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure confidentiality
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
- Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate employee data
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors
- Stay up-to-date with relevant payroll laws and regulations
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, such as W-2 preparation
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role
- Proficient in using payroll software
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, debits, credits, and account reconciliation
- Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
