One of our beloved front desk team members has completed her degree and will be leaving dentistry to pursue a new field. We are looking for a new person to join our front desk team!
Job Overview:
Dental receptionists greet people at a dentist's office, assist clients, schedule appointments and perform other administrative tasks.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greet and welcome patients to the practice (check in)
- Schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments as needed
- Ensure schedule is curated to meet office goals
- Ensure patients complete all required portions of patient intake forms
- Prepare patients’ charts and daily schedules for the practice
- Update patient records
- Acquire patient referral and post-op radiographs prior to patient’s appointment
- Ensure treatment is posted correctly
- File insurance claims with patient’s dental insurance
- Provide patient appointment reminders to confirm appointments
- Communicate with dental insurance providers as needed to verify patient’s insurance to determine their estimated payment
- Verify methods of payment and collect payments (check out)
- Receive referrals via phone, email, website, etc and schedule patients in a timely manner
- Reassure nervous/anxious patients when scheduling
- Answer questions about finances/treatment to the best of your ability/knowledge
- Troubleshoot when patients call with discomfort (filter which patients need pain management strategies reviewed, which patients need to come in, and which patients need to speak with a doctor)
- Provide treatment estimates that are as accurate as possible
- Send final treatment reports to patient’s general dentist and/or other specialists as needed
- Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing, and faxing.
- Schedule recall appointments as needed
- Maintain a clean, neat, and organized office work area (cleaning waiting room, bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning break room fridge, etc)
- Assist with laundry to ensure clean towels are available for patient bathroom
- Post insurance payments
- Follow up on and track insurance payments (troubleshoot when issues arise)
- Send statements when balances are due
- Track AR and make collection calls as needed
- Ensure compliance is maintained for annual PCI certification
- Send end of month reports to accounting dept/communicate with accounting dept to troubleshoot accounting issues
- Process patient refunds and mail checks as needed
- Assist with TDO/IT troubleshooting as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
