Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate PCU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team in Fayetteville, North Carolina. As a PCU RN, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients in the progressive care unit, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive care plan for patients in the progressive care unit, incorporating their individual needs, medical history, and treatment goals.
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs, blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen levels, and overall condition.
- Administer medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosage and proper documentation.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, promptly recognizing and responding to any abnormalities or changes in patients' conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians, fellow nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to provide coordinated and effective patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.
- Assist with various medical procedures, including wound care, line insertion, and patient transfers.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Adhere to all infection control protocols and ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in nursing practices and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Valid RN license in the state of North Carolina.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a progressive care unit or similar healthcare setting.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia recognition, and critical care medications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, with a commitment to delivering high-quality services.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare technologies.
