Position Summary
This position provides clinical care to patients on Sibcy House and Williams House under the general direction of the Residential Program Manager. Delivers assigned, delegated, direct care consistent with the treatment plan. Performs clinical assessments, therapeutic groups, individual therapy sessions, and psycho-educational services.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides the diagnosis and treatment of mental and emotional disorders by performing patient psychological testing (i.e., SCID I and II) and assessment, individual, group and family therapy under the appropriate clinical supervision.
- Conducts identified groups according to the program schedule.
- Analyzes content, coverage, and facilitation of groups.
- Collects & records data related to patient care activities.
- Gathers objective data & observation about the patient
- Differentiates between normal & abnormal observations
- Reports changes in patient status to the RN staff
- Delivers delegated aspects of direct care
- Provides care based on the established treatment plan
- Involves patient & involved others in the care process
- Engages in individual & purposeful interactions with patients & treatment teams
- Demonstrates understanding of current therapeutic techniques
- Continuously participates in learning opportunities to expand inventory of intervention options
- Applies learning & experience to patient care
- Effectively responds to escalating behavior
- Assesses patients for risk of aggressive behavior
- Demonstrates an ability to identify early changes in behavior that indicate escalation
- Engages with patients who are exhibiting early behavioral changes
- Provides information to patients & families
- Presents information to patients & involved others
- Reviews comprehension of information
- Facilitates customer satisfaction
- Measures and reports results of patient outcomes
- Identifies issues of customer service
- Acts to resolve customer service issues within available options
- Refers complex & unresolved issues to the appropriate parties
- Initates emergency action when indicated
- Identifies emergency situations
- Responds to the emergency situation with immediate attention in a controlled & skilled manner
- Participates in the continuous improvement of the organization through the quality improvement process
- Completes monitors for assigned indicators
- Reports any actual or potential situation that impacts patient safety
- Implements actions that result in continuous improvement of quality & compliance
- Participates in the organization wide quality measures
- Provides specific trainings to Sibcy House and Williams House employees, as well Lindner Center of HOPE orientation for group therapy training.
- May provide clinical supervision to individuals. May occasionally aide in the supervision of interns.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Position Requirements
- Masters’ Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Active license as a Lisenced Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Ohio required.
- CRP certification required. May be obtained after hire.

- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for the spectrum of populations admitted to LCOH.
Physical Requirements
The position requires the usual physical requirements of a position working in a patient care environment.
All candidates extended conditional offer of employment will be subject to will conduct a WebCheck (BCI & FBI Fingerprinting). Fingerprints will be submitted to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The reports from these agencies will include criminal record information. Lindner Center of HOPE will follow the requirements for employment based on the State of Ohio Administrative Code 5122-30-31, and any other regulatory requirements regarding criminal background checks. Lindner Center of HOPE also reserves the right to obtain Consumer Reports and/or Investigative Consumer Reports as defined in the Federal Fair Credit Reporting ACT (FCRA).
