Pukall Lumber Company is a family-owned and -operated wood products manufacturer located in Arbor Vitae, WI. The sawmill was founded by Fred Pukall in 1937. Since that time, Pukall Lumber has grown steadily and is one of the largest pine lumber mills in the state and the premier lumber and building supply businesses in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. The Inside Sales will sell products, assist customers, and stock merchandise of building materials and supplies department of the retail store by performing the essential duties and responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer questions and advise customers on selection of building materials and supplies. Cross sells add-on products.
- Use point-of-sales system for customer sales; apply knowledge of Company SKU codes and pricing; accept customer payment by cash, credit card, or internal credit; obtain customer information for site delivery; maintain confidentiality of customer information.
- Assist customer to carry items to vehicle, if needed; arrange to have Warehouse Customer Service personnel load purchased materials.
- Prepare quotations of material costs upon customer request; follow-up by phone to attempt to close sale.
- Prepare estimates based on customer design specifications.
- Restock by moving materials and supplies from receiving area to display area; replace returned items in appropriate location.
- Mark prices on merchandise or price stickers according to pricing guides; count stock.
- Straighten and clean materials on display to maintain safe and orderly conditions in sales areas.
- Assist in Warehouse and with customer deliveries, if needed.
- Coordinate U-Haul rentals to include scheduling, minor maintenance and cleaning, as well as providing rental information to customers (Minocqua location).
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous retail and/or customer service experience required.
- Current and valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge and experience with inventory software, order processing systems, building materials and/or construction industry highly preferred.
- Previous experience with estimating desirable.
- Previous experience with forklift driving desirable.
