O&H Danish Bakery is a premier retail bakery with four retail stores in SE Wisconsin and mail order gifting programs that send bakery around the world. The baking teams at O&H Danish Bakery pride themselves on baking scratch-made Danish Kringle, pastries, donuts, cookies and breads using time-honored baking techniques.
Summary of Position:
Cake Decorator needed with high level of artistic ability to write on cakes using O & H frosting, pastry bags & tips. Demonstrates a strong individual drive to get things done and is willing to assist with other bakery duties as necessary, including answering phones and helping in the store. Dedicated to excellent customer service and quality and shows a willingness to always improve.
Responsibilities:
- Decorate custom cakes with artistic quality, as specified by custom requests and cake slips.
- Use of specific tools is required, using airbrush system, mixers and other tools.
- Follows proper bakery department, safety, and security procedures and standards.
- Follows Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position and follows GMP’s.
- Assists with other bakery duties as needed. Assists in other departments as necessary.
- Places finished product on racks and transfers racks to the cooler, freezer, or wrapping area.
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to customers, employees, and suppliers.

- Strong artistic ability and comes up with creative solutions for customer requests.
- Good communication both verbally and in writing. Strong listening ability when taking orders and instructing others.
- Thorough and detail-oriented to ensure the highest level of satisfaction for customers requests.
- Strong mathematical skills necessary to create and follow recipes.
- Displays a professional behavior toward others. Assists co-workers and managers as needed.
- Is proactive and reacts quickly in identifying problems, finding solutions and making sound decisions.
- Is able to multi-task and adhere to deadlines while working independently. Organized and able to prioritize. Able to adjust to changing tasks, fluidly.

- Work together well with a variety of personalities and individuals and participates in a professional manner to accomplish the business goal (quality bakery, great customer service).
- Must be able to decorate sixteen 7” cakes per hour within six months, and twelve quarter sheet cakes per hour within six months. As well as maintaining the high level of artistic quality for which O & H is known for
- On time to work; working holidays and weekends are likely required.
