We are a successful, growing machine and equipment distribution company by Columbia, TN just south Nashville. We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager /Bookkeeper to join our 18 member team. As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and manager all the financial operations of our organization. This is a key role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, fast data entry and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to the owner.
As Accounting Manager you will help oversee all general office areas and to assist the Purchasing, Warehousing and Sales areas mainly in regards to providing support with financial records for their efficiency. And helping oversee other areas in relation to their record keeping in relation to accounting and their financial performance.
Other Duties will include:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. The position will involve a lot of data entry and as we expand will include hiring a full or part time assistant to assist with data entry and all efforts related to the position.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Excellent experience with double entry software. Our company uses a well designed financial software pertaining to the industry and machine equipment distributors and dealers. - Conduct account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to maintain internal controls
- Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure adequate funds are available for operational needs
- Prepare budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with senior management
- Preparation of financial reports for the owner and tax filings
- Provide guidance and support to accounting staff, including training and development opportunities
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in corporate accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
- Proficient in financial report writing and analysis
- Experience with account reconciliation and analysis
- Excellent understanding of GAAP
- CPA certification is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
