STEADFLEET offers mobile and on-site heavy equipment repair / service to customers throughout the Southeast. We are looking to add another qualified heavy equipment technician to our team. Part-time and full-time candidates will be considered.
The position is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of heavy equipment. Experience working with material handling equipment (forklifts, moffetts, wallboard cranes) and off-highway equipment (skid steers, excavators) is highly preferred - however, we will consider candidates with general heavy equipment experience.
Job Functions:
- Responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment machinery;
- Evaluate and make recommendations regarding repairs and maintenance of equipment mentioned;
- Schedule and perform required preventive maintenance and inspections;
- Maintain all appropriate documentation to ensure repair / maintenance records are accurate and current in the company database;
- Complete various mobile service tasks as assigned;
- Comply with all safety requirements.
Job Qualifications:
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills; self-starter with the ability to accomplish tasks independently;
- Ability to work well with others and treat co-workers / customers with respect;
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair;
- Minimum 2-3 years of welding experience;
- Minimim 2-3 years of 12V electrical experience;
- Experience working with Fassi, IMT, and Palfinger cranes a plus;
- Experience on other material handling heavy equipment (forklifts and / or moffetts) as our customers frequently have us service those units as well;
- Maintain a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record;
- Ability to stand, crawl, kneel, squat, reach, pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs; ability to climb ladders / steps and work with hand tools;
- Ability to work overtime and on weekends; travel may be required periodically; and
- Understand and adhere to all safety / PPE practices and standards at all times.
