- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams

As one of the most central teams to the Amazon Payment Products organization, you'll have the opportunity to impact customers in a big way and play a role in the launches of dozens of important features each year. Our financial offers platform enables millions of Amazon customers to earn rewards on their purchases or pay with installments. We own a true full-stack platform from massive "web-scale" services that serve hundreds of thousands of TPS to customer-facing and authorship UI to data processing systems, all built on top of AWS. We also own the exciting Prime Card Bonus program that lets Prime Card customers get bonus cashback on certain categories (see https://www.amazon.com/pcb for more details), which we have ambitious plans to grow in the next 3 years.
As the FORCE SDM, you'll be responsible for growing and building a world class team, setting the operational excellence bar of a central platform, and defining the tech roadmap to solve the complex technical problems associated with supporting a massive business. Key job responsibilities
Manage the growth, performance, and hiring of the FORCE team
Help set the technical roadmap (3-year vision, 1 year operational plan, tactical quarterly plan, and agile prioritization) for the team in partnership with business and senior engineers
Make the right tradeoffs between enabling business launches while protecting platform quality bar
Earn the trust of many business stakeholders across multiple organizations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
