Engineering Manager-Software Development
Full Time Salaried Position

We are looking for an accomplished Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and manage a team of Tech Leads and software engineers for our Go Outdoors software development team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing the entire software development lifecycle and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Tech Leads and software engineers.
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and design reviews to provide guidance and expertise.
- In collaboration with department leaders, oversee the software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Operations, Customer Success, and IT, to deliver high-quality software products.
- Collaborate with leaders to establish and enforce best practices for software development, including coding standards, code reviews, and automated testing.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
- Manage and resolve technical issues and conflicts that arise during the development process.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management and Architects to ensure successful roadmap / client delivery.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Spearhead technical development initiatives, including upgrades and enhancements. Works towards long-term roadmap items, including expanded leveraging of Azure DevOps suite tools and platform modernization initiatives.
- Handle recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members to build a strong and capable engineering team.
- Provide regular performance feedback and conduct performance reviews for team members.
- Monitor and manage team productivity, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience (8+ years) in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development and architecture. (C#, .NET, T-SQL, object-oriented programming)
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex software projects and delivering high-quality software on time and within budget.
- Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Must successfully clear a Level II background screening.
Position Location:
This position is anticipated to be a full-time remote position. The work must be performed within the continental United States. The standard work hours for this position will follow Eastern Standard Time. All equipment required to perform the job responsibilities will be provided by Brandt.
Compensation & Benefits:

- An annual base salary of $115,000 - $135,000 determined by factors including but not limited to geographic location, skills, qualifications, and experience
