Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) to join our team. As a Licensed Psychiatric Technician, you will provide direct care and support to adults with developmental disabilities and mental health conditions. Your role will involve assisting with daily activities, monitoring patient behavior, and implementing treatment plans under the supervision of licensed professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans for patients
- Monitor and document patient behavior, including vital signs and medication administration
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and coordination of care
- Participate in therapeutic group activities and recreational programs
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate and empathetic nature towards individuals with mental health conditions
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and handle challenging behaviors
- Excellent observation skills to monitor patient behavior and report any changes or concerns
- Basic knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work collaboratively within a team
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training as a Psychiatric Technician is preferred
- Previous experience working in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting is desirable
