POSITION: Early Childhood Lead Teacher
REPORTS TO: Principal and Director of Early Childhood Education

POSITION SUMMARY: St. Agatha School is seeking candidates for Lead Teacher position in our Early Childhood program. We are looking for teachers who are creative, hard working, dedicated, and energetic. Most importantly must have a desire, commitment, and a passion for working with young children. This position is anticipated, depending upon sufficient program enrollment.
FLSA: Exempt/37.5 hours per week, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM. This is a benefit-eligible position, prorated for the duration of the assignment.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain a highly structured, safe learning environment that supports early childhood students in developing and applying skills necessary to function successfully and with as much independence as possible.
- Create developmentally appropriate, multi sensory experiences for K0/K1 students that enable all students to be actively engaged.
- Establish strong working relationships with families that promote student growth communicating clearly and concisely in both oral and written form.
- Use Teaching Strategies GOLD assessment tool to consistently assess and document student’s growth. Use GOLD to create report cards on a trimester basis. Use results to support conversations during parent teacher conferences.
- Uses instructional practices that are likely to challenge,motivate,and engage all students and facilitate equitable and active student participation, with respect to individual needs and diverse backgrounds.
- Designs effective and rigorous units of instruction consisting of well structured lessons with measurable outcomes.
- Maintains a safe, organized classroom, which supports student’s independent learning, collaboration, and choice.
- Support a paraprofessional assigned to your classroom.
- Participate in professional and staff development to develop and maintain best practices in early childhood education.
- Adhere to EEC guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification or license in Early Childhood Education and/or EEC license preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the subject matter and ability to effectively teach the early childhood curriculum.
- Must participate in Lynch Foundation trainings, receive coaching, and respect their advice and support.
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques to create a positive classroom environment.
- Familiarity with educational technology tools on the early childhood level.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues daily as well as through PLCs and staff meetings.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.- Experience teaching early childhood students is desirable.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
