Position Title: Primary Therapist (part-time), Evenings
Position Summary:
As part of a multidisciplinary clinical team, the primary provides direct client services within an organized intensive outpatient treatment facility including but not limited to individual therapy, case management, Family therapy, psychotherapy groups, psychoeducational groups, and other clinical groups as assigned and credentialed. Responsible for timely documentation of services provided, communication of client responses to treatment with team, and participation in individual and group clinical supervision as required. The primary therapist carries a caseload and is responsible for the client’s weekly treatment planning, discharge planning, and is continuously assessing for the appropriate level of care.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
· Master’s Degree from an accredited school in a human services area (required)
· Minimum of two (2) years’ post-Master’s experience working with a substance use disorder (SUD) population (required)
· Must be a qualified mental health professional (QMHP) licensed in the District of Columbia (e.g., LICSW, LPC, LMFT, PhD) (required)
· Demonstrated competence in group facilitation skills (required)
· Experience working in intensive outpatient or residential treatment setting (preferred)
· Must have a minimum of one (1) year of sobriety if identifying as being in recovery (desirable)

Responsibilities and Specific Job Duties:
- Responsible for preparing for and providing direct client services, as assigned
- Provides individual psychotherapy, family therapy, and case management on a weekly basis
- Completes client biopsychosocial assessments, suicide risk assessment, Safety plan within 24 hours of client’s admission.
- Responsible for client’s care from intake until the time of discharge.
- Facilitates psychotherapeutic and psychoeducational group sessions, as credentialed
- Develops group topics based on collective client needs as identified in treatment plans, utilizes established curricula where appropriate, applies evidence-based practices and follows treatment team clinical recommendations
- Participates in weekly clinical team meetings, assisting in individual client treatment planning and goal setting
- Provides crisis intervention and management services, as needed
- Utilizing the organization’s electronic health record (EHR), documents all services provided (e.g., individual, group, family) and collateral contacts in a timely manner
- Participates in clinical supervision weekly or as otherwise required
- Communicates with the treatment team members regarding client responses to therapy and any concerning issues that arise in group sessions or elsewhere
- Provides milieu management support especially as clients transition between groups
- Provides coverage of psychotherapy groups for colleagues as needed or assigned
- Participates in other Verve program and recovery community activities
