Dr. Usmani, DO, FAOCD is a Board-Certified Dermatologist for over 10 years. As the founder of TruDerm Pediatric and Adult Dermatology, Dr. Usmani has developed and maintained a truly unique practice that delivers pediatric and adult dermatology, total skin health, laser, and cosmetic services. She combines advanced technical proficiency with an artistic eye.
TruDerm is looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is positive, a quick learner, organized, dependable and can multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Primary Responsibilities for Medical Assistant:
- Promptly greets patients with a positive and upbeat attitude while keeping an efficient flow for the providers
- Prepares exam rooms and patients for clinical procedures and assisting providers with patient care, routine checkups and other physical exams
- Completes a thorough and concise intake by gathering pertinent clinical information and medical histories in the EMR system (Modernizing Medicine/EMA experience is a plus)
- Takes and records vital signs
- Administers medications and injections under the direction of the supervising provider
- Saves providers’ time by helping with office procedures and suture removal
- Maintains medical supplies inventory, stock exam rooms and performs preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating
- Explains services, procedures and educates patients by following TruDerm's Patient Education protocols
- Sends specimens to the lab and tracks results to ensure timely receipt for the providers review; communicates test results to the patient based on the providers' directive
- Reconcile patients medical records for all follow-up encounters
- Manages office telephone system, including answering calls and returning messages
- Sterilizing medical equipment
- Obtains prior-authorizations for select medications as needed
- Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
