Position Overview:
This position interfaces directly with the customer and is responsible for processing cargo bookings or
import/export documentation within established deadlines and regulatory requirements. Receives, reconciles,
consolidates and/or summarize documents and information from customers.
Responsabilidades:
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure that all documentation is complete and submitted timely, as required;

Check documents, make necessary corrections and distribute them to corresponding customers to meet their respective deadlines;
Collect cargo documents for all assigned customers- -check the information for accuracy and disseminate for processing;

Inform all customers of cargo arrivals/departures, via email/phone with an arrival/departure notice and a copy of the bill of lading. Securing confirmation and file in master file;

Secure original bills of lading properly endorsed, and delivery orders;

Check that cargo is properly released;

Coordinate and enter all data into the inventory system and prepare corresponding performance reports;

Heavy phone communications answering any questions and informing customers of situations;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Coordinate cargo reception and dispatch, prepare daily and weekly reports.

Update arrival and dispatch schedules
- Participate in daily operations meetings
Candidate Requirements:
-
Minimum two (2) years’ experience in Customer Service and Import Documentation in the Maritime industry, required;
-
High school diploma or equivalent;
-
Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook;
- Required to obtain a TWIC card;

Must be bilingual (English/Spanish). Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;

Able to follow procedures and instructions and exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures;

Understands the escalation process for assistance and knows the limits of his/her authority;

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

The employee is required to sit for long periods of time and move to and from other locations, within the office and terminal.
- The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Work is performed primarily in an office environment.

Work may involve moderate exposure to inclement weather/elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, airborne particles, smoke, unpleasant odors, toxic or caustic chemicals;

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule and extended hours, weekends or holidays, as needed.
