SeaCa Plastic Packaging's Maintenance Department is looking to add an experienced Maintenance Automation Technician to our team at our Surprise, AZ location. The ideal candidate for this position will be someone who excels working in a demanding and fast paced environment and demonstrates excellent prioritization, decision making and time management skills.
Responsible for all aspects mechanical troubleshooting and repairs and completing work orders as assigned.
This is a position in a manufacturing environment. Training is provided to help you grow your career. The schedule for this position is Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 5:00pm, flexibility is required due to business needs.
Qualifications:
· Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position
· PLC programing and troubleshooting experience automation preferably
· Advanced understanding systems pertaining to hydraulics, thermal heating, electrical, automation, pneumatics, and mechanics
· Understands and follows all safety rules and regulations
· Thoroughly understands Lockout/Tagout and how to stop all energy sources
· Performs routine diagnosis, repairs, trouble shoots and completes preventive maintenance to assure that all electrical, electronic, mechanical, plant circuitry, hydraulic, pneumatic and water systems, which includes but not limited to air compressors, motor control centers, fuse boxes, switches, conveyors, pumps air handler, gas valves, lighting fixtures, steam boiler, transformers, and electrical motors are in proper working order
· Installation of Variable Frequency Drives, Soft Starters, Motor Control Systems, Relays, Fuses, Control Transformers, HMIs, Level Sensors, Pressure Sensors
· Plans and conducts operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
· Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunctions with maintenance team and to diagnose problems
· Gain detailed knowledge of production equipment components to diagnose causes of electrical or mechanical malfunctions, failures, and provide corrective action.
· Keeps accurate and complete records of all maintenance performed
· Performs maintenance procedures as recommended by the machine manufacturer
· Recommends machinery and/or parts to be purchased
· Learn a complex series of machine settings that have interrelated outcomes as they are being changed
· Work in a team environment and able to lead maintenance crew
· Adapt to a changing workplace schedule that requires a 24 hour and 7-day operating schedule
· Adheres to all Company rules and regulations outlined in the Employee Handbook and elsewhere
· Responsible for not leaving job/plant premises when known problem exists without ensuring corrective action is in place
· Maintain electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical knowledge through trainings and workshops
· Ability to work alone or within a group
· Must have a strong commitment to personal and team safety
· Ability to learn company specific applications and to collect and analyze data on standard computer software
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
· Minimum 4 years of field operations experience in the technical/industrial maintenance field
· Understanding of NFPA 72/ NEC Code, NFPA 70E Arc Flash
· Prefer multi-craft skills (Mechanical/Electrical)
· AC/DC troubleshooting experience required
· Demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills, Ability to multi-task
· Effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the team
· Must be willing to perform other services outside of this as well. Example: assisting with removal and installation of pumps, motors, valves, Service Entrance Sections, and other
· Must have experience with and the ability to demonstrate electrical and mechanical maintenance principles, concepts, and troubleshooting techniques including a working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
· Experience with using diagnostics equipment such as Digital Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Amp Clamp and Calibration tools, instrumentation control systems, and motor control systems, and PLC controls
· Experience with control panel wiring
· Experience with machine integration
· Familiarity with Voltages up to 480 volts
· Work rotating shifts which include weekends and holidays
· Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred
· Able to read, speak, and understand English
· Knowledgeable with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Advanced technical or college training preferred
· Writing and mathematical skills
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to handle fast pace and high stress environment
· Ability to withstand dusty, hot, cold, humid, windy, and noisy conditions
· Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and push/pull at least 50 lbs
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel or stoop for extended periods of time
