Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Wastewater Technician. As a family-owned business ranked #16 in the country by Inc. The ideal candidate will have experience in scheduling, inventory management, hiring and training, and a strong background in using and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Responsibilities include supervising and or performing:
- Oversee the operation of the Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) machine for water cleaning before discharging into the sewer.
- Operating and maintaining the Flottweg centrifuge used for extracting fats and oils from waste streams.
- Conduct power washing activities including trucks, old grease containers, dewatering trailers, and inside tanker trailers (confined space entry).
- Loading finished products onto trailers and off-loading trucks.
- Refurbish old grease containers through painting, metal grinding, and welding.
- Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, mixers, hoses, and other equipment.
- Conduct daily sampling of plant materials and perform various analytical testing on finished products and wastewater.
- Collaborate with the Wastewater Manager in developing and implementing schedules to ensure efficient workflow.
- Assist in hiring and training new team members as needed.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
Characteristics:
- Minimum of two years of experience operating wastewater equipment, including DAF and centrifuge machines.
- Significant experience in performing manual labor for a single company for at least two years.
- Flexibility and adaptability with a focus on team outcomes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot unexpected equipment failures.
- Excellent organizational skills with punctuality and the ability to make independent decisions.
- Physically fit and able to perform labor-related tasks, including lifting up to 70 lbs safely.
- Certified forklift operator.
- General understanding of basic mechanical functions such as valves and pumps.

Schedule:
Monday through Friday 10:00am - 7:00pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
