What You’ll Do
This is a job that performs routine (journey-level) work involving general housekeeping in the private quarters for the Governor’s family. Assists in all other housekeeping duties as needed.
- In coordination with the Lead Mansion Steward and under the direction of the Mansion Administrator, performs housekeeping of the private family quarters of the Governor’s Mansion.
- General housekeeping tasks: sweeping, mopping, dusting, cleaning kitchen and bathrooms, carpet maintenance and, making beds.
- Family laundry and assists with laundry of household linens as needed.
- Assists in identifying housekeeping needs.
- Assists with food service and kitchen maintenance as needed.
- Assists with Mansion maintenance as needed.
- Assists lead Mansion Steward with event preparations as needed, which may require additional hours.
- Requisitions and distributes supplies and equipment; maintains records of supplies used.
How You’ll Qualify
- High school graduate or equivalent; and
- Four (4) years of housekeeping experience.
Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions
This classification functions in a standard office environment. Ability to move up to 20 Ibs. Ability to drive and travel as needed. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time. Will need to move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, set up conference rooms for meetings, etc. Must be able to lift, grasp, bend, overhead reach and kneel as required to perform repetitive duties, keyboarding, filing and other related office support duties. Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information via phone, computer and in person. Must be able to observe and evaluate data in a variety of formats, including hard copy, electronic and media formats. Must be able to work hours during a legislative session that include holidays and as needed.
