Bilingual Shelter Receptionist:

If so, the Shelter Receptionist position at Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) might be the perfect role for you!
As a Shelter Receptionist you will work with animals while also interacting with staff, management, and volunteers, and you may be cross-trained in adoptions. CAP is a nonprofit shelter going on 50 years strong in Houston, and so you will be completing purpose-driven work, which is very fulfilling! The shelter at CAP handles all intake of animals, adoptions, and medical care.
This position is fast-paced and it requires an advanced degree of multi-tasking and customer service. Schedule and Activities:
A typical schedule for you at CAP would be 5 days at 8 hours per day, with at least one weekend day (our busiest times).
A typical day as Shelter Receptionist for you looks like: Answering calls, paging for help with customers who want to meet with animals, accepting donations, welcoming clients, and coordinating with adoption counselors. As the first person that clients will see, you will be working to provide excellent customer care and help the flow of the shelter to keep it moving. You will be working to maintain lost and found reports at the highest level of organization, advocating for the shelter and clinic programs, directing clients to the appropriate areas, and maintaining email and paging communications with internal staff and the public.

Pay and Benefits:
Our pay range for this position is $13-15/hour, which is dependent upon your experience.
Additional pay for Spanish fluency, which is required for this position
