Primary Responsibilities:
● Under the direction of the Grower and irrigation lead, provides irrigation and water
maintenance needs to potted plants, liners and stockfields.
● Responsible for monitoring fertilizer levels in the stock tanks and mixing fertilizer per
instructions from the Grower
● Responsible for controlling weeds by mechanical means, spraying or by spreading of
granular herbicides.
● Responsible for organization and cleaning of the pesticide mixing and storage areas
● Participates as a member of the pesticide application crew to apply rotational chemicals
as needed.
● Routinely utilizes UTV’s, and mowers.
● Reports any potential plant health concerns promptly to the Plant Health Team
● Complete all required safety training; know and follow safety procedures, including the
applicable use of personal protection equipment, the proper operation of
tools/machinery, proper handling of hazardous materials, and reporting near misses
and unsafe conditions or activities to company leadership.
● Ensures that all equipment is kept organized, clean and operating properly.
Qualifications:
● 6 months -1 year relevant experience in nursery production or landscaping preferred
(On the job training available to those with limited experience)
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Must be physically able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs, work in all types of terrain and
adverse weather conditions (including extreme cold and heat).
● Previous experience in pesticide application including operation of common farm and
nursery spray equipment preferred.
● Possession of a current Private Pesticide Applicators license is a plus
