Responsibilities:
- Provide speech therapy services to patients in a hospital setting, primarily working with pediatric patients.
- Conduct patient assessments to determine speech and language disorders and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors and nurses, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize knowledge of physiology and anatomy to understand the underlying causes of speech and language disorders.
- Provide case management for patients, including coordinating with other therapists and healthcare providers.
- Work in critical care units, such as the ICU, to provide specialized speech therapy services.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes.
Experience:
- Minimum of [X] years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in an acute care or hospital setting.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy related to speech and language disorders.
- Familiarity with critical care environments and ability to adapt treatment plans accordingly.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to assess and diagnose speech and language disorders in patients of all ages.
- Proficient in developing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Strong case management skills to coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech therapy.
