Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Registered Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries, performing laboratory tests, administering medications, providing general animal care, and handling urgent/emergency cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal husbandry, veterinary terminology, and animal care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in examining and treating animals
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Monitor anesthesia during surgeries and recovery periods
- Provide post-operative care and follow-up instructions to pet owners
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
- Provide general animal care including grooming, feeding, and exercise
Qualifications:
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
- Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician is highly desirable. Minimum 2 years of experience
- Proficient in veterinary terminology and procedures
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology and behavior
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and proper handling of laboratory samples
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate pet owners on proper animal care
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
