Job Title: Head Baker

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Baker to oversee our bakery operations and lead our team of bakers. The Head Baker will be responsible for creating and executing high-quality baked goods, managing inventory and supplies with resources available, training and supervising staff, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in artisanal bread and pastry making, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume bakery operation.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute high-quality bread, pastry, and dessert recipes using quality and up to date methods
- Oversee bakery operations, including inventory management, ordering, and scheduling
- Train and supervise baking staff, ensuring that they meet production and quality standards
- Ensure that all baked goods meet established quality standards and are produced on time for daily service
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including adherence to health and safety regulations and standards
- Develop new recipes and products that are aligned with current food trends and customer preferences
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement new menu items and promotions
- Manage bakery budget and expenses, including labor, food costs, and supplies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in professional baking, with a strong background in artisanal bread and pastry making. Experience in a high-volume bakery operation preferred.
- Plan, schedule and supervise bakery production, shipping and cleaning activities to highest safety and sanitation standards.
- Supervise, evaluate, train and schedule work of bakery sales goals are met and bakes are delivered on time
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to train and supervise staff effectively
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
- Ability to work early morning shifts and weekends as needed
- Knowledge of baking equipment and techniques, including mixing, proofing, and baking
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards related to food production
- Creativity and innovation in developing new recipes and products
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
- Reliable transportation required
- Maintain equipment log and coordinate regular maintenance

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
