Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a classroom of students, providing a safe and engaging learning environment
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and educational activities
- Utilize learning technology and resources to enhance student learning experiences
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessments
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote a positive classroom environment
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student success
- Provide guidance and support to assistant teachers or teacher aides
Qualifications:
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Previous experience working with students in a classroom setting
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and best practices in education
- Proficient in using learning technology and educational resources
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and engage students in learning activities
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development
- Familiarity with physical education concepts is a plus
- Knowledge of deaf education or proficiency in sign language is a plus
