We are looking to hire a talented Service Technician III to be responsible for delivering customer service excellence while installing and maintaining algae generation systems, diagnosing and solving problems as they arise, record keeping and reporting and maintaining relationships with growers and irrigators.
This role is located in Hanford/Tulare, California and includes traveling to field sites regionally.
This position is a hybrid, with some remote work available and on-site; the zip codes in the area are: 93230 and 93274. This is an hourly paid role with a targeted 40 hour work week.
This role will report directly to the Bakersfield Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Adherence to MyLand’s company core values.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by managing the relationship between growers and operations employees, insuring great communication.
- Assure that all operation and maintenance activities are performed in a safe manner consistent with established policies and procedures.
- Conduct site evaluations for new system installations in coordination with the Startup team.
- Install Boost algae generation systems with limited supervision and test to ensure they are working correctly, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and chemical applications. Support installation of Thrive algae generation systems.
- Coordinate system seasonal startup and shutdown with grower crop and irrigation cycles.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and customer support activities on Boost and Thrive algae generation systems, working to maximize system uptime and distribution of algae and provide feedback on ways to optimize or improve performance.
- Perform troubleshooting on Boost and Thrive systems to identify, diagnose, and resolve problems.
- Perform soil sampling and testing, coordinating with the Ag Science team.
- Identify and order parts and supplies for scheduled maintenance and corrective repairs.
- Perform record keeping and reporting on services performed, including support for operational KPIs.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and problem-solving regarding system performance.
- Train, mentor, and develop Service Technician Is.
- Lead team in execution of R&D projects as assigned.
- Perform remote operation of Thrive units from Ignition SCADA interface.
- Support new market research and plan for entry in coordination with operations leadership.
Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 2 years technical service experience, apprenticeship, or relevant work experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
- Prior Agricultural industry experience is preferred.
- Ability to safely install, repair, service, test, and troubleshoot plumbing, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
- Ability to work flexible and weekend hours to successfully complete installations and repairs.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools and personal protective equipment.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift certification.
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel).
- Must be able to lift, carry, transport equipment, tools, and materials up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and kneel/squat for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work for extended periods of time outside in both hot and cold temperatures.
- Must be able to travel to other locations as needed.
