Established and financially sound organization seeks an individual to join hour dynamic staff. Join us in vibrant downtown Greensboro with free parking! We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant who will learn our varied divisions and processes and grow with us!
The ideal candidate will have a strong financial acumen and experience in accounting. This position offers an opportunity to work on various financial tasks and gain exposure to different aspects of accounting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited the following:
- Accurately enters specified accounts payables into the accounting software
- Accurately post journal entries for all companies
- Assist in preparing financial reports for all companies using appropriate accounting principles and accurate entries
- Balance accounts receivable for all divisions of the company
- Apply accounts receivable remits for assigned divisions
- Oversee scanning and depositing of checks
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, verify daily bank activity to the general ledger
- Order supplies, match purchase orders to invoices for all purchases
- Maintain files and storage of files
- Provide auditors, Controller, and CFO with information when needed
- Reconcile appropriate bank statements in a timely manner
- Answer phones and directs calls appropriately
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Perform analysis on accounts payable and receivables monthly and/or as required
- Maintain and analyze Cash Forecasting on operating accounts
- Assist Controller with meeting and achieving departmental goals assigned each year
- Investigate entry errors on general ledger postings or bank transactions
- Review daily cash postings for each bank account
- Any other special projects, tasks or duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor
- Adhere to all guidelines set forth in the company handbook and other policies and procedures that may be enacted by management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or Bachelor's Degree + relevant work experience)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial concepts
- Proficiency in using accounting software
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation
- Ability to interpret and prepare financial statements
- Previous experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Strong understanding of regulatory reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data recording
