Job Summary:
Arlo Chicago, a luxury hotel in Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a Full Time Front Desk Agent to join our team. As the first point of contact for guests, the Front Desk Agent plays a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for all visitors. This individual will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk and lobby area. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role in the hospitality industry, perfect for someone who is friendly, organized, and detail-oriented.
Compensation & Benefits:
This is a full-time, hourly position in the hospitality industry with a competitive wage of $22 per hour. The Front Desk Agent will be paid biweekly and will be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and discounts at our hotel and restaurant.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests in a warm and professional manner, anticipating their needs and ensuring their satisfaction throughout their stay
- Check-in and check-out guests efficiently and accurately, providing them with all necessary information and accommodations
- Answer incoming calls and assist with inquiries, reservations, and requests
- Keep the front desk area and lobby presentable and well-stocked at all times
- Process payments and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with various departments such as housekeeping and maintenance to ensure guests' needs are met
- Handle and resolve guest complaints and concerns in a timely and effective manner
- Maintain knowledge of hotel services, amenities, and local attractions to provide recommendations and assist guests with their needs
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, organizing, and maintaining records
- Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in customer service, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office and hotel management systems
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, and lift up to 25 pounds
- Knowledge of a second language is a plus
