JOB SUMMARY
Hands Of Healing’s Program Director is responsible for the operational, managerial, and administrative duties relating to the program. The Program Director must maintain a flexible work schedule that may include working hours other than regular work schedule and evenings, weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions:
- Overall supervision and management of program personnel including recruitment, hiring, training, and terminating.
- Overseeing the collection, maintenance and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the appropriate personnel at Hands Of Healing’s Corporate Office and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
- Assessing program needs, developing goal/objectives while ensuring compliance with residential child licensing standards, ORR Policies and Procedures, Cooperative Agreements, Flores Settlement Agreement, TVPRA of 2008, VAWA of 2013 and the Perez-Olano Settlement.
- Review monthly financials, to ensure compliance with operations/contract requirements. Adhere to negotiated annual budget and spending requirements.
- Monitor the program facility and vehicle maintenance, inventory control and bulk purchases. Maintain a safe, clean and hazard-free environment.
- Oversee the facilitating of the established training guidelines and curriculum for employee training.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with organization, licensing, and funding source for all program departments.
Other Functions:
- Assume the duties and responsibilities of the Executive Managing Director in his/her absence or as requested; serving as the administrator of the program and liaison with ORR.
- Have duties and special assignments designated by the Executive Managing Director involving communication and management of Foster Homes (if this is applicable to your role).
- The PD will guide the shelter program (if this is applicable to your role) in the implementation of the behavior management plan.
- The PD will maintain ongoing communications with the Executive Managing Director regarding all incidents involving UC and personnel.
- Attend all organizational required trainings.
- Attend all program and department meetings to ensure that up-to-date information is received and/or information of policy changes or practice are adhered to.
- Travel as needed to transport youth to destinations located within the U.S and attend trainings/conferences.
- Develop and maintain productive relations with federal, state and local stakeholders.
- Able to handle other essential tasks as assigned and react to change productively.
- Must assist in the evacuation of youth as needed due to natural disasters, inclement weather conditions, or other unforeseen occurrences.
- Maintain a clean, safe and hazard-free work area.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
- Must have a combination of one of the following
- Bachelor's degree in a education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science related field, with a minimum of five years of progressive employment experience with a social services or childcare agency or organization. .
- Master's degree in social services or related field, with one-year supervisory experience working with troubled youth.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license and be eligible to drive to facilitate program services as required by contractual agreement.
- Required to work a flexible schedule to facilitate program services.
- Cleared Tuberculosis test results.
- Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
- Must be Bilingual
- Cleared drug test results (this one is for Texas programs only).
- Must be flexible and be willing to work irregular and long hours including evenings and weekends as the position requires on call rotation with Program Director.
- Maintain annual training requirements/licensure/certifications.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to obtain First Aid Certification (CPR) and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
Must be able to supervise clients indoors and outdoors as necessary. Bending, stooping and lifting up to 15lbs required to complete daily tasks. Job requires extended periods of sitting; use of various office equipment.
Work Environment:
This is a twenty-four-hour residential facility at which minors receive multiple services. Three shifts per twenty-four-hour period. Work shifts are subject to change. Noise levels vary from mild to moderate. Predominantly indoors, occasional outdoor monitoring or activities. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
