Insurance Specialty Group, LLC, a subsidiary of NFP, is hiring an Associate Underwriter II.
The Associate Underwriter II performs all duties necessary to support revenue production of the Underwriting Team while ensuring profitable results for represented markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Services an assigned book of business including, but not limited to the following:
- Develops relationships with retail agent and wholesale broker customers and represented markets
- Handles new submissions including clearance, submission set up, review for additional information, and requests for additional information
- Gathers and documents underwriting information
- Rates accounts and creates customer proposals
- Issues policies and endorsements
- Handles loss control inspections and other risk management requirements
- Handles premium audits
- Handles renewal book of business including non-renewal requirements and gathering of renewal information
- Creates invoices
- Handles notices of cancellation
- Handles all administrative tasks associated with the book of business
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
- Superior customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi task
- Ability to problem solve
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High level of self motivation
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES: N/A
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Two years minimum experience as an assistant underwriter working for an insurance company, or intermediary

The base salary range for this position is $60,000 – $75,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
