Description: About this opportunity
The successful candidate will be a key member of the corporate accounting team, with primary responsibilities related to overseeing the monthly and quarterly general ledger closes. In addition, the candidate will collaborate with other corporate accounting and finance functions, such as Revenue/Cost Accounting; Internal and SEC Reporting; and Financial Planning and Analysis. The position will manage 4 staff members.
Job Responsibilities: What you will do. (Competencies = Autonomy, Management, Scope + Collaboration + Job Complexity)
· Oversee general ledger close and supervise the AEMEA general accounting team.
· Manage month/quarter end close responsibilities and ensure timely and accurate close cycles.
· Maintain general ledgers in accordance with US GAAP accounting standards and DZS accounting policies.
· Prepare and review journal entries.
· Review account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies.
· Responsible for subsidiary intercompany accounting process.
· Ensure consistency of account treatment and classifications of transactions.
· Perform analysis of financial results and prepare financial summary information to support internal management reporting and the consolidation process.
· Liaise with external auditors regarding financial statement audits and SOX compliance testing.
· Maintain documentation of process and procedures for SOX compliance purposes and ensure internal control activities are consistently performed.
· Support statutory compliance reporting requirements.
· Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
· Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications: What you will bring (Competency= General Knowledge and Abilities)
· Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
· CPA preferred.
· Minimum 7 years general accounting experience required; experience with telecom or other high-tech equipment manufacturers a plus.
· Big 4 audit experience preferred.
· Mix of public accounting and private company experience is a plus.
· Experience with a major ERP (Oracle, SAP, etc.) strongly desired.
· Experience with Oracle EPM and FloQast strongly preferred.
· Experience with process improvement projects and ability to manage multiple on- going projects.
· Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
· Diligent, highly efficient and accurate, with extreme attention to detail and exceptional organizational and time management skills.
· Self-starter, effective follow through and timely in providing status updates.
· Strong interpersonal/communication skills required; both written and verbal communications ability is critical.
· Should be quick learner who has the ability to work both independently and within a team environment and is accustomed to working with tight deadlines. Able to work flexible hours as needed during peak times.
· Desire to work in a dynamic, nimble, entrepreneurial, empowered environment, yet one that is committed to best practice and to upholding the expectations of an SEC registrant. To succeed, this person must be adaptable & flexible.
