Tooling Engineer*
In this position, you will be responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.
*
Essential Duties / Responsibilities*
- Lead tooling initiatives, including test tooling on allotted machines plus lines.
- Perform toward enhancing entire part quality to reduce scrap and rework.
- Establish and execute strong manufacturing client focus across departments and in support of plant-wide operations.
- Maintain and comply with high standards for housekeeping and safety, resulting in a safe and clean atmosphere for all employees.
- Provide preventative support and repairs on time and effectually, considering life-cycle costs.
- Ensure to pay careful attention to entire shop floor bottlenecks.
- Support to reduce conversion costs and enhance process equipment OEE.
- Communicate detailed, relevant information to key players.
- Perform stretch objectives to continue to enhance leading indicators beyond conventional means, resulting in the lowest practical manufacturing costs.
- Execute continuing productivity enhancement programs.
- Write tooling methodology plus specifications for new tooling manufacturing.
- Support with scheduling, interact with vendors, and various daily functions.
- Continually investigates and resolves manufacturing process problems and customer concerns to promote continuous improvement of production efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Design and coordinate cutting tool fabrication to minimize issues and reduce the cost of existing processes.
- Research and adopt best-practice processes and methods
- Provide technical support to production operations
- Utilize lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts, including 5S, Standardized Work, to eliminate waste and reduce product cost
- Direct and/or oversee cost reduction and product/process improvement projects as assigned.
- Take a hands-on approach to fulfilling job responsibilities – must be willing to problem solve in a production environment.

Qualifications:*
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Practical experience using CAD and AutoCAD software.
Work Environment:
Climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a moderate noise level. In this position, you are working a full-time schedule, mainly in an office environment, with some time in a manufacturing setting.
