Position Title: Food and Nutrition Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent is responsible to manage and oversee the activities of the Food & Nutrition Services, including budgetary oversight, short term and long-term planning, management of department employees. The incumbent is responsible for the quality of food preparation as well as fostering and providing a positive and safe dietary experience for all residents, families, and employees.
The incumbent is expected to work in accordance with the Guiding Principles of R&K Services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee food purchasing, food planning, preparation and serving.
- Maintenance of sanitary standards in the preparation areas, kitchen, serving and dining areas of the facility.
- Plan menus that are varied, nutritionally balanced and appetizing.
- Interpret recipes, modified diet plans and proper portion control in accordance with approved policy.
- Collaborate and work with Human Resources to provide staff management including hiring, development, training, performance management and communication to ensure effective and efficient department operation.
- Analyze food costs and assist with departmental budget issues.
- Orient, train and coach team members on operational guidelines, organizational policies and procedures.
- May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Requires frequent standing, stooping, kneeing, reaching, bending, walking, talking, and hearing in a Rehabilitation and Nursing facility setting.
- Requires the use of hands and fingers to use and handle cleaning equipment.
- Requires interactions with co-workers, residents/patients.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

May require working in hot and humid environment.
